Urgent Care for Pets in Holly Springs, NC

When your pet is in pain, bleeding, or struggling to breathe, the last thing you need is uncertainty about where to turn or waste precious time trying to figure it out. Holly Springs pet owners often find themselves stuck between two bad options late at night or on a weekend, where they’re forced to wait it out and hope the symptoms pass, or drive a long way to the nearest emergency hospital for a routine issue that could have waited until morning.

Grace Animal Hospital was built to close that gap. Our veterinary practice in the Holly Springs area offers walk-in and same-day urgent care Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., so your family isn’t left guessing when something feels wrong with your pet. We are an urgent care practice, not a 24-hour emergency hospital.

Call 919-346-0285 Immediately If Your Pet Is in Crisis

If your pet is showing signs of a true emergency, don’t wait to make an appointment online. Call 919-346-0285 right away so our team can prepare for your arrival and guide you through what to do on the drive over. Having the number saved in your phone now, before you need it, can save critical minutes later.

Our front desk team can help over the phone. If it’s within our hours of operation, we’ll get you in as quickly as possible. If we’re closed and your pet’s condition can’t wait, we’ll help direct you to the nearest 24-hour emergency facility so your pet gets care without delay.

When Can You See Us for Urgent Care?

Grace Animal Hospital is an urgent care practice and is not a 24-hour emergency hospital. We operate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Saturday. If your pet’s emergency happens outside these hours, whether that’s a Sunday, a weeknight, or a holiday, please go directly to a 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital, like Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital. Delaying care for a true emergency can be the difference between a good outcome and a tragic one.

What Counts as a True Emergency?

Not every scary moment with a pet requires an ER trip, but some absolutely do. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, severe bleeding or bleeding that doesn’t stop within five minutes, choking or difficulty breathing, and bleeding from the nose, mouth, or rectum are all signs that warrant immediate veterinary attention. Knowing the difference ahead of time helps you make a fast, confident decision instead of freezing in the moment.

True Emergencies

Call us or go to a 24-hour ER immediately if your pet is experiencing any of the following:

  • Difficulty breathing, choking, or nonstop coughing and gagging
  • Severe bleeding that won’t stop, or blood in vomit, urine, or stool
  • Straining to urinate with little or no output
  • Suspected poisoning or toxin ingestion
  • Seizures, collapse, or unconsciousness
  • Trauma from being hit by a car or a serious fall
  • A bloated, distended abdomen, especially in large-breed dogs

Can-Wait Situations

Schedule a regular or same-day visit in these scenarios:

  • Mild limping without swelling or visible injury
  • Occasional sneezing or mild seasonal allergy symptoms
  • A single episode of vomiting with a pet that’s still eating and acting normal
  • Minor skin irritation or a small, shallow scrape
  • Slightly reduced appetite for less than a day

Go Straight to a 24-Hour ER

Do not wait for us to open in the following situations:

  • Any true emergency listed above occurring outside our hours
  • Ongoing or worsening symptoms that started during our closed hours

If you’re ever unsure which category your pet falls into, call us. It’s always better to check than to guess.
